Darkest Realms Network was created on June 9th of 2008. It was originally designed as a group on MySpace.com. The features on Ning.com were much greater for the groups needs. This is where the development of DRN as a site came along. To put it simply, Ning.com was the best step for DRN.

The idea of having one site for all the Darkest of resources was an idea that came from the frustration of having to sign up to one site for each topic. The creator of DRN has searched other sites, ideas and philosophies. He got sick of having to be on 20 sites just to seek everything he was interested in. Most people don't want to be registered to 20 sites and that is a huge advantage of DRN. It takes it all down to 1 site, 1 profile, etc.

Darkest Realms Network is not designed for the owners to become rich, however, you would better enjoy your time if you pull a little bit of money out of your pocket to gain extra features, abilities and privileges. Darkest Realms Network is never finished being developed and relies on the donations to continue enhancing the features, abilities
and privileges.

Some ask if this is supposed to be like other sites. No this is not. More important, this is not supposed to be like MySpace.com. It can be compared to MySpace, MyYearBook or FaceBook, except the fact that we run things different. Also, if you read the About Us, you will read that we don't want everyone to join. This is a site that is directed to certain groups of people. We do not care about every category of people, social standards, religion, etc. We only care about the DARK side or gray areas.

The development of the site takes a twist at times, but we are looking forward to it moving into a much better design and way of things are done. Ning does lack a few things that the site needs and therefore may not be the permanent home of DRN.
